2014 Honda Crosstour – A luxurious and versatile CUV

The 2014 Honda Crosstour is intriguing in that it fits somewhere between a wagon and a crossover sport utility vehicle.

Luxurious and versatile, and equipped with a smooth drivetrain, the 2014 Crosstour offers a high level of quality and dependability, real time 4-wheel drive, spacious seating and car-like driving dynamics. Its Accord sibling is a good option as well, but if you want something a little different, yet within the same family, the Crosstour is an interesting option.

At first glance, the 2014 Crosstour appears to have a solid stance that is both stylish and aggressive. The front and rear bumper underguards, fog lights, rear privacy tinted windows, and 18-inch wheels certainly enhance this feeling. The chrome door handles and sunroof are a nice touch as well.

The Crosstour is offered from $37, 745 from your Lallier Honda Repentigny dealer, when referring to the base EX-L 4WD V6 model. There is also a second trim offered in the lineup; the top EX-L 4WD V6 NAVI that includes additional elements like Honda’s navigation system with voice recognition and 3D map display, an 8-inch information display, and HDD audio storage.

Both models come equipped with a 3.5-litre V6 engine that is paired to a 6-speed automatic transmission, and includes real time 4WD and steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters. From the V6, consumers can expect a total output of 278 horsepower and 252 pound-feet of torque. Driving the 2014 Crosstour may remind you of the Honda Accord when referring to its accurate steering and secure handling.

The automaker’s CUV demands to be tested on the highway to fully appreciate the performance, and to experience how comfortable the ride can be. In addition, the quiet cabin will allow buyers to enjoy the standard satellite radio feature that is included on both trims.

As for fuel economy, the 2014 Crosstour has a combined consumption rating of 9.3 litres per 100 kilometres (mix of city and highway), and a rating of 7.1 L/100 km when driving in the city.

Inside the vehicle, buyers may find it to be spacious enough for both front and rear passengers, and of course, the back seats fold with a 60/40 split to increase cargo volume. Buyers can also add larger or bulkier items inside the vehicle more easily than they might imagine.

As for comfort, standard features include leather-trimmed seating surfaces and heated front seats. For the sake of convenience, consumers can also save up to two seat positions! Dual-zone automatic climate control and Bluetooth with hands-free calling and audio streaming, are among many other features offered on the  2014 Honda Crosstour, depending on the model.

And in terms of safety technologies, LaneWatch will provide drivers with the ability to view vehicles in their blind spot, and lane departure, forward collision warning, and Honda’s multi-angle rearview camera are also included. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety has also rated the 2014 Honda Crosstour with the top Good score for the moderate overlap front and side crash test, in addition to the roof strength, head restraints and seat crash tests.

Mixing some of the Accord’s strength with additional versatility and cargo volume, the 2014 Crosstour is a luxurious vehicle sure to please many consumers.
