2015 Honda Accord: Still among the best in its class

Introduced for the first time this side of the Pacific in 1976, the Honda Accord quickly established itself as one of the best midsize sedans to be offered on the market. Today, the Accord stands out by offering a spacious interior, multiple versions, advanced technology and fuel-efficient engines.

The current generation of the Honda Accord was introduced as a 2013 model and quickly drew praise from the press and consumers. Named the Canadian Car of the Year by AJAC in its first year, the Accord will suit the needs of many different buyers with different lifestyles also.

Available in a four-door version or as a coupe, the Accord comes standard with a four-cylinder, 2.4-liter engine developing 185 horsepower and 181 lb-ft of torque. This engine sends power to the front wheels as standard with a 6-speed manual gearbox, while a continuously variable automatic transmission is optional. In the Sport model, the CVT transmission adds gearshift paddles.

The other option is a 3.5-liter V6 engine developing 278 horsepower and 252 lb-ft of torque. Capable of reaching 100 km/h in less than seven seconds, the engine adds quite a bit of spice to the Accord. Despite being powerful, it is still fuel-efficient with an average consumption of 9.1 liters per 100 kilometers. With the four-cylinder, the average consumption with the CVT transmission is 7.8 liters per 100 kilometers.

If fuel economy is your top priority, you can opt for the hybrid version of the Accord. Available from $ 29,990, the 2015 Accord Hybrid displays a total output of 196 horsepower from its four-cylinder, 2.0 liter engine coupled to an electric motor. Better yet, the average consumption is 5.0 l/100km.

In terms of equipment, the 2015 Honda Accord comes standard with heated seats, rearview camera, 17-inch wheels and a central 8-inch screen.
