The new-generation Honda Civic Type R is one of the most discussed models within the automotive industry, and with good reason. Finally, Honda has decided to import its flagship model from Europe and at the same time allow car enthusiasts to enjoy one of the most underrated cars on the market.

Underrated because the 2017 Honda Civic Type R is fast and powerful on the track, but also because it can very well serve as an everyday car in addition to being offered at just over $ 40,000.

Here's everything you need to know about the 2017 Honda Civic Type R

It was designed for the track...

Honda’s engineers developed the new 2017 Honda Civic Type R on the famous Nürburgring in Germany, and they also created an agile car with sharp handling that benefits from numerous improvements made to the suspension, shock absorbers, and steering compared to the Honda Civic Hatchback on which the model is based.

Bending stiffness increases by 45% compared to the Civic Hatchback while torsional stiffness increases by 38%. The car also loses 16 pounds at the weigh-in. In addition, the 2017 Honda Civic Type R will be equipped with 20-inch wheels with Continental ContiSportContact 6 high performance tires, Brembo calipers and a limited slip differential.

... but also for everyday driving

Despite its impressive performance characteristics, the 2017 Honda Civic Type R is also a car that you can drive every day. Indeed, Honda engineers have programmed three driving modes that adjust the steering, suspension, transmission, engine and accelerator parameters (in addition to the traction and stability control systems) in order to make the drive more comfortable (Comfort mode) or more sporty (mode +R) according to your tastes.

Add to that the fact that it will be equipped out-of-the-gate with a navigation system, dual zone air conditioning, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay functions and more than 500 liters of cargo space, and you have a car that adapts to all situations.

The 2017 Honda Civic Type R arrives this summer at Lallier Honda 40-640!
