2017 Honda CR-V: here’s what you need to know

The automotive industry was taken a bit by surprise earlier this month when Honda unveiled the all-new 2017 Honda CR-V

The automotive industry was taken a bit by surprise earlier this month when Honda unveiled the all-new 2017 Honda CR-V, the fifth generation of the popular CR-V which continues to be one of Canada’s most popular and best-selling compact sport utility vehicles. The new CR-V adds some pretty impressive features both inside and out, but the most significant changes can be found underneath the hood where the new CR-V gets a brand new optional engine.

Here is all the important information your need to know regarding the 2017 Honda CR-V

It will have a turbo engine

For the first time in its history, the Honda CR-V gets a turbocharged engine. Indeed, it will feature the 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine of the Honda Civic, but power is pushed up to 190 horsepower. This engine will be paired with a CVT automatic transmission, and will be offered with all-wheel drive. This turbo engine will be optional as the 2017 CR-V will come standard with a 2.4-liter, four-cylinder unit that delivers 185 horsepower and 181 lb-ft of torque. This engine will also be paired with a continuously variable automatic transmission.

It will come standard with the Honda Sensing suite of active safety technologies

Honda has always wanted to put safety first, and as a result decided to offer the Honda Sensing suite of active safety technologies on every 2017 Honda CR-V at no extra cost. Honda Sensing includes a wide range of active safety systems designed to prevent accidents from ever happening thanks to features like Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keep Assist and Lane Departure Warning, Lane Departure Mitigation, Forward Collision Warning with Brake Support, Auto High Beam headlights, Rear Cross Traffic Alert and Blind Spot Monitoring.

It is redesigned inside and out

The 2017 Honda CR-V gets a new exterior design that includes a revised grill with active shutters designed to improve aerodynamics and fuel economy, new distinctive headlights, and a host of additional details that will allow it to stand out in the crowd. Inside, the 2017 CR-V gets a new infotainment system that is easier to use, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, and more interior volume thanks to a longer wheelbase and improved layout.

The 2017 Honda CR-V will arrive at Honda Lallier 40/640 this winter. To learn more, contact us today to book a test drive!
