The new 2018 Honda Accord impresses at every level

Honda's fifth-generation Honda Accord raises the bar a notch and offers consumers a state-of-the-art mid-size sedan that's more fuel-efficient, more powerful, more spacious, and even more quiet and comfortable. There is no doubt, the new 2018 Honda Accord is impressive at every level.

The 2018 Honda Accord shifts to turbocharging

There is a lot of new stuff with the 2018 Honda Accord, but it's mostly under the hood that we realize how much this 5th generation has evolved. Indeed, the new Accord traded its normally aspirated four-cylinder and V6 engines for two new, more powerful and fuel-efficient turbo engines.

The first is a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine producing 192 horsepower and 192 lb-ft of available torque at only 1,500 rpm. This abundant torque available at low RPM results in decisive accelerations and passing manoeuvers that are done with confidence. A continuously variable automatic transmission provides refined performance and an average fuel consumption rating of only 7.9 liters per 100 kilometers in the city and 6.3 liters per 100 kilometers on the highway. A manual gearbox is also available with this engine.

The other powertrain option is a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo that develops 252 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque that is also delivered at very low revs. This engine is available with a 10-speed automatic transmission that delivers performance that is close to perfection while helping tremendously with fuel consumption. A manual is also offered with this engine.

Other enhancements to the new Accord include a redesigned and more spacious interior, a trunk that is among the most spacious in the segment and, as we will see shortly, state-of-the-art safety technologies.

Honda Sensing standard on all 2018 Honda Accord

Starting at $ 26,490, the new 2018 Honda Accord offers in all these versions the Honda Sensing Safety Package, which offers a variety of driving assistance systems that include adaptive cruise control, lane departure and prevention, and forward collision warning system with automatic braking.

No doubt, the new 2018 Honda Accord has a lot to offer. For more information, contact us today at Lallier Honda 40/640!
